We’re moving again.
Well, this will be our first move since I started my blog in January,
but our third move in the last year and a half. My husband and I lived in Indiana for the
first 6 years of our married life while he was working on his PhD. The past year we’ve been living in Illinois
for his current job and I’ve stayed home.
Now we’re moving to Texas for his new job! We’re really excited about moving because
Texas is a lot closer to our family. One
thing we have to do when moving to a different state is find the Department of motor vehicles, get a new license, find out the requirements for obtaining said
license, and take a DMV test.
Every state has their own manual and their own laws that you
have to learn, or re-learn! Every state
also has a different requirement for passing their DMV test. In Indiana you could only miss one question
on the “signs” section, so if you got two signs mixed up- that’s it- you fail! Fortunately I didn’t miss any on that
section, but I did study beforehand. When
we moved to Illinois I didn’t study for the test, but they had a more lenient
policy for missing questions. I did
learn that in Illinois you can’t talk on your phone in a construction zone
(umm…that makes sense!) I wonder what
different laws Texas will have? When was the last time you took a DMV test?

Are you following me? Just kidding. My husband and I went from NV to IL to MI and finally to TX. You must be a pro at moving too! When we moved here, we didn't have to take a DMV test to get our license. You do have to get your car tested (safety and smog, I think). They made us take our tint off because it was too dark. Once you pass that, you can get the car registered and then get your license. You cannot be on your cell phone while driving thru a school zone here. What area you moving to? I live in North Fort Worth.
Thanks for visiting my blog! Followed you:)

haha! Amazey, I'm not following you. We're moving to Denton. We're definitely pros at moving. My husband is from the Dallas area, and I'm from Oklahoma, so I feel like we've been all over! :)
Gosh its been years since I have taken the dmv test. Not sure if I would pass it again lol. Good luck on your move.
Awww... It must really be tough to move a lot, but being closer to your family is a plus! Well.... sometimes. =)
Hope you have a wonderful week!
Sincerely,

Possibly, but not sure, in 1984, in Germany. Now that was a test! Thanks for following me, following you back!
I came to driving late and didn't get my license till I was 35, which was 10 years ago! I hate tests so I would not want to constantly have to retake them! Congratulaitons on your move, I'm sure it will be nice to be closer to family. After my son was born we moved 6 blocks from my parents and I love it more than I ever thought I would! lol! It's great to find your blog. I love VB, such great sites to follow! I'm a new, happy follower. Look foward to reading about your new adventures in Texas!
For some reason I love new adventures and once settled in to the new home, packing not so much! Have a wonderful time in your new home!
Following you from VoiceBoks!~Lisa

I am going to be honest...I want to move more!! As a child I lived in the same place forever. Once I got married and went to college I wanted to move to a new place. Be someplace I have never lived but nooo. I have been in the same place for the last 5 years! I am jealous of your moving! Hehehe
Have a great day!

I have not taken that test since I was 18! I haven't moved out of AZ, and I got my license late. I have a bunch of brothers and sisters, and I knew that I would be driving everyone everywhere, so I held off;) Great to find you through VoiceBoks!
